At WHC Your Health Is Our Priority
We are still open and we will continue to do so, contributing to the health care needs of our community. Health is an essential service and it is more important now in this times to ensure that your health is in its best state. Every day at Wholistic Health Centre, the entire team are committed to maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice. It is important to us for you to understand our environment and hygiene commitments. This is ‘business as usual’ for us.
Sensible and Practical Precautions
With heightened concerns in the community at this time, we also have some sensible and practical precautions for us all to take to guard against any viral transmission.
We are committed to keeping WHC a safe space where you can confidently come for your treatments to maintain your Musculokeletal health, improve or strengthen your immune system and wellbeing
Be Informed so Everyone Can Stay Safe
Unless you are directly in contact with an infected patient (in which case you will need to be self-isolating), the risk of you contracting the coronavirus is mainly from touching a surface on which the virus has landed, and then touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
A Clean and Safe Approach
Hence, we are keeping all surfaces thoroughly disinfected, and are also asking every patient who enters the waiting room to wash their hands with our sanitiser. This way the risk of anyone unknowingly transmitting virus particles to any surfaces like door handles, desktop, magazines, pens, taps etc is very substantially reduced.
This means you can feel confident, despite the fact there may have been people in the clinic before you on any given day, there is little risk of virus contamination of any surfaces.
In addition, it is good practice to wash your hands often with soap and water (thoroughly!) and avoid touching your face – and encouraging your children to do the same.
For anyone who has upper respiratory symptoms (cough, fever, sneezes etc) or has been in close contact with someone diagnosed with coronavirus or has recently travelled Overseas, you are asked to call us before coming to the clinic. We will advise you of the best steps you can take.
A Holistic Approach to Support Your Immune System
Committing to the 5 pillars of health can enhance the immune system, helping your body to fight off infections and viruses.
Eating a rainbow of both fruit and vegetables increases your phytonutrient intake. These are the protective plant chemicals which enhance the body’s immune system. They help with detoxification and reducing inflammation.
Sleep is the most important part of the day!
With a consistently good night’s sleep, you are much more likely to have the physical, mental and emotional resilience to deal with the stresses of our modern world. Prioritise sleep – aiming to sleep 7-8 hours per night.
Any exercise is better than none. Guidelines recommend 30 minutes a day at moderate intensity. Any type of activity that you enjoy is good. Outdoor exercise will also get you some Sunlight, allowing you to absorb Vitamin D. Low levels of Vitamin D are also though to impair immunity.
The mouth is for eating – the nose is for breathing. Nasal breathing is an important part of overall health as it warms, humidifies and filters the air, reducing the chances of enlarged tonsils, allergies, hay fever and other chronic respiratory problems.
Please don’t hesitate to call the WHC team if you have any questions or concerns.
We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Yours in good health,
Wholistic Health Centre
